I don't know that there is one specific precedent set in this case, as there have been several cases geared towards Native American tribes and The United States. But, in my research it seems that this was the first case regarding the Indians Mineral Lease Act and the trust that lies within the Secretary of the Interior to make a decision in the best interest of the tribe, this case really set precedence for future cases regarding these issues.
